10 miles. Windy, Hot, Fast (until the last 2)
It’s that time of the month again! Time for a foodie penpals post and to look all over the internet, drooling over what every one else received in the mail from their new found friend.
Now, I’m not going to lie to you guys, I legitimately got a fantastic box this month. So fantastic, that it was gone…within 24 hours.Oops.
But before I tell you about all of my delicious treats, let’s talk about this program, and hopefully I will be able to convince all of you- who aren’t part of it already- to join, because you won’t regret it.
Lindsay put this whole awesome program together in September 2011 and it has since expanded into something enormous. If you read the points below and decided that yes, you do, want to be a part of something awesome, go here to sign up.
-On the 5th of the month, you will receive your penpal pairing via email. It will be your responsibility to contact your penpal and get their mailing address and any other information you might need like allergies or dietary restrictions.
-You will have until the 15th of the month to put your box of goodies in the mail. On the last day of the month, you will post about the goodies you received from your penpal!
-The boxes are to be filled with fun foodie things, local food items or even homemade treats! The spending limit is $15. The box must also include something written. This can be anything from a note explaining what’s in the box, to a fun recipe…use your imagination!
My box this month came from Melissa, the writer over at Treats With a Twist, she is a pretty adorable human being so go over and visit her.
See, when you come from a relatively large family, as soon as you have something delicious put in front of you, you need to eat it all really fast so that no one else steals it. If you’re picture a pack of wolves fighting over 1 piece of meat right now, that is a pretty accurate picture of what it’s like, especially when it comes to sweets.
Melissa didn’t know but we had a large donation from Justin’s Nut Butter for the Reach The Beach. I had actually been nervous for whether I would like it or not, and now, thanks to Melissa, I know Ilove it.
Not only did Melissa send some awesome food, she also made that $15 stretch, so I may be going to her soon for some grocery shopping tips.
I sent my box to Shauuna over at mammas 13 minute miles, she’s an awesome mamma who just got married and is trying to reclaim both her sanity and body.
