Hi friends, I hope your day is going a little less sleepy than mine. I just can’t seem to get moving and I’m pretty sure I hit the snooze button over 20 times this morning. It’s a good thing Pat would be able to sleep though a bus crashing into the apartment.
How was your weekend?
Mine was pretty good. I worked, played, sweat- but some of that sweat was just from it being stupidly hot out.
Weigh In
130.0 - First of all; Yay! I don’t think I’ve weighed 130 since kindergarten. I lost 1.6 lbs this week, which compared to recent weigh in’s, means I kicked some serious butt. 130.0 also means, I hit my mini goal, so I will be going to get my nails done tomorrow.
I like to set small goals for myself, it’s much more beneficial to me to think “I need to lose 10 lbs to get to goal” instead of “I need to lose 66 a million lbs to get to goal”, I’ve used this technique from the start and it has been awesome. I’ve been doing 10 lbs increments, but at some points I would change the goal if I was struggling just so I could get the jump start from the satisfaction. The plan was to give myself something small when I hit each milestone, a lot of them have gone by without me buying anything, that’s because just hitting it was a present to myself and that was a good enough feeling.
But I really want my nails done this week, so, I will.
I only have 11 lbs left, but I’m still not going to call that my goal, right now my goal is 125. In January it felt like weight was falling off, blinking could have been considered exercise, now I’m working way harder than ever to see small changes. This last 11 lbs is going to be a long road.
So this week I’ll get my nails done, at 125 I’ll…. do something. Then I think I’m going to have another goal in between 125 and 119, just because I’m excited for the end, and I like giving myself presents.
I know what my final Prize is but What do you think I should give myself for hitting the two goals in between?
On another note; I signed up for this:
You can all call me crazy now.
And just because you may need a laugh; I once again face planted during my run. Last time I got a concussion, this time I just scraped my hand and knee up pretty bad. I got right up and ran 4 more miles, at one point I felt something dripping down my leg, turns out it was blood.
Remember when I told you my shoe laces were too long? Yeah, I’ll be putting my old ones back in tonight.
And if you were wondering, yes, this did happen in front of a group of construction workers. Fantastic.
Have you ever taken a fall while running? I’m becoming a pro.

oh my goodness congrats! i saw this on your twitter and was so proud of you. hard work does pay off. You have kept a great balance and i really respect that. treat yo self!
Thanks! And thanks even more for the Parks and Rec reference! It made me laugh!
Congrats on the mini goal — enjoy your manicure
As for falling while running, yes, I’ve totally done that. I have a scar (light, but still a scar) from tripping while stepping up onto a curb while running and tripping. I fell and kinda rolled into the road. Highly embarrassing, although thankfully there was only one car in the vicinity and it was well enough away that I wasn’t in any danger of getting run over. The driver stopped and asked if I was okay, which while nice, was also embarrassing.
And to top it all off, about 3/4 mile later I was zoned out, just trotting along and came THIS CLOSE to stepping on a road kill deer. *shivers* It wasn’t a good running day.
But anyway – have a good mani and let us know what color you choose!
Haha, I have a problem with being a space cadet and have come a little too close to stepping on road kill a few too many times. Isn’t it funny how even after bad days like that, we still go out and do it again the next day?
Congrats on the weight loss!!! So awesome!!! And yes…I’ve fallen while running. I was running at night with some friends and we had to off road it due to an oncoming car. I slipped on some rocks and landed on my hand and side. It hurt my back and I had to take off a week from running and do some physical therapy..yuck! Hope you are ok! Be careful!!!
Yeah, I can’t even run when it’s daylight out without falling so I imagine that if I was running in the dark I would do much worse damage than you did.
Congrats girly! 130 is a HUGE accomplishment!
Thanks! Every milestone has felt big, but, this one feels even bigger than usual. I’m pretty excited.
1. A relay race is soooo on my fitness bucket list. Have fun for me.
2. 130 – Holly crud you are a little thing! (Sounds so stinking small)
1) I’ll take lots of pictures for you
2) I’m barely 5 feet tall, so I just entered my healthy weight range
Congratulations Colleen! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Aunt Debbie!
Congrats on reaching that goal!! I remember I felt as though it took a bulldozer to lose the last fifteen after I reached 130. Just keep sweating and smiling! You can do it girl!
Yeah, every one told me the last pounds would be the hardest, but now I know for a fact it will be.
I fell UP some concrete stadium steps. Thankfully there wasn’t anyone around because it was awful. I scraped my palm, my arm, banged my elbow and my knee and had to limp home crying! UGH!
Yikes! That sounds awful! I would cry too! I hope you ended up okay!
Congrats on the weigh-in! I have never fallen while running but I have tripped while teaching aerobics. It was quite the moment – the whole class just stood there in shock until I started laughing at myself.
i crashed on my bike and got major road rash of course in front of people TYPICAL. lol always hurts the pride a bit
