Hello friends! I’m slowly getting back into my work schedule so stick with me here. I mostly work until 9pm, it’s those days that I have to be there at 9am, that really throws my blogging schedule for a loop. But it is really nice to get out of work and be able to go grocery shopping and make dinner, and that’s exactly what I did yesterday.
Well, first, I went to my parents house. My mom said I had a package and I was very excited, and then I became even more excited when it wasn’t what I thought it was.
My Fit Approach goods arrived!
Speaking of sweating! My surgeons office said that I can start exercising on July 16th, except if it involves my stomach muscles, then I have to wait until August 6th. When I asked specifically about running, the lady on the phone said “You tell me, you’re the runner”. Huh, interesting response. SO, friends, you tell me: when do you think I can start running? I’m not going to lie to you, waiting until August to run seems pretty awful.
After the excitement of my package, and showing my parents, and all their church friends (obviously), I had to go to Wegmans because we eat produce and fruit like it’s candy. But that’s a good thing right?
This is what I bought:
Strawberries Green Pepper
Blueberries Zucchini
Mango Mozzarella
Bananas Carrots
Raspberries Broccoli
Kiwi Soy Milk
Tomatoes Greek Yogurt
Red Pepper
When I got home I made this delicious salad for my lunches this week; its so easy, holds up well and transports without being a mess. Perfect.
I have a thing about wilted lettuce, so there’s none of that, but I was sad when I cut open my red pepper and it was moldy inside. This is not the norm for Wegmans, I still love them and after I tweeted a picture of it to them, I love them even more.
I got a response literally within seconds.
The package that I was expecting to get actually got delivered to my apartment (I clicked the wrong button at checkout). I am always worried because of our neighbors but thankfully it was still sitting, in one piece, in our hallway.
I bought this off of Amazon and now our house is smoothie central!

The blender is a beast, it works phenomenally, the only problem is that it’s pretty loud and I was worried about the neighbors upstairs. But, then I remembered that they don’t care when they have parties in the middle of the night, or when they play their music so loud that it shakes our apartment. I knew I loved smoothies, but I forgot how much I love smoothies, so delicious and so filling. The only other problem with buying a blender is that every time I buy an appliance, and feel excited about it, I feel pretty darn old.
Pat promptly took a banana blueberry smoothie to work in his new fancy cup, I think I’ll do the same.
I forgot to tell all of you that on Tuesday I was featured on the Fit Approach site, if you want to read about my water faucet eyes and my Ah-ha moment, this is the place to do it.
What is your favorite kind of smoothie to make?
What should I do with all those pink shoe laces?
Have you ever bought produce only to find it was moldy? What did the store do for you?

I’m also a smoothie fan! Frozen strawberries, fresh banana, splash of OJ and greek yogurt is a good one… Where did you get those fancy cups?
I got them right here… http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001Q3L9NW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 I love them, they don’t get condensation on the outside and they can’t spill!
We love smoothies! Dick has been having one for breakfast and one for lunch lately. We buy frozen fruit and mix it with OJ or AJ. I like some silken tofu in mine — just a slice — makes it creamy without adding dairy. We also sometimes add fresh fruit to the frozen – depends on what’s on hand.
Peel bananas and cut in half – store in the freezer. They’re great in a smoothie.
Dick has some vanilla protein powder, too, to add some oomph!
The VitaMix blender we bought is awesome — it will pulverize concrete!
I’m just now trying smoothies for the first item because of this blog giveaway I am doing. I am having fun experimenting. Today I had a berry one.
