Happy Monday friends! I hope you all had a positive weekend! I was pretty excited to get out of the house and enjoy a little sunshine.
Yesterday the boys wanted to go hiking, which worked out perfect because I wanted to lay in the grass and read.
Now obviously, I forgot that cameras existed, so you will have to use your imagination.
We’re really lucky that we live by a few parks- but our favorite is Northampton. It has sledding hills in the winter, big open spaces for soccer and nature trails up the wazoo. I’m also hoping to try geocaching there this summer- but I have to find someone willing to go- because it is not a place to go alone. (Don’t all raise your hands at once)
The boys wandered off to a trail and I found myself a nice patch of grass and got comfortable with my book. But then I started thinking about where I was laying, and decided to do the one thing you shouldn’t do in Northampton Park, I Googled Arthur Shawcross. If you don’t know who he is, or what he did, he killed a lot of hookers and buried them in the park. Why did I decide to switch my reading from HeLa cells to killing prostitutes? I’m not sure, but I wish I hadn’t. It’s like whenever I’m home alone; I decide it’s the best time to watch ghost mystery/serial killer shows.
I was pretty excited when the boys got back- from an unexpected direction; they used creative liberty on the trail- because I was both hungry and glad that I wouldn’t die alone when Shawcross’ ghost appeared out of the woods. We enjoyed a picnic of PB&J, carrots, goldfish, and string cheese. Then the boys played some soccer and football. There is no doubt in my mind that the little one will never be a professional athlete, but he’s having fun running around and that is what matters. It’s kind of like me and running- I look horrendous when I run and I occasionally trip and fall on my face- but I’m having fun.
Only a few weeks left until I can run again, and I’m really super excited, but I’ve also been throwing ideas around in my head for other activities. I hear a lot of yoga talk, but I really don’t know if I can sit still long enough for yoga, or more importantly keep my mouth shut long enough. I’m also looking for things that will not make me broke.
Suggestions?
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you the exciting news! I was chosen to be a Sweat Pink Ambassador! I’m really happy and am looking forward to filling you guys in on all the fun stuff.

congrats on being an ambassador, well deserved for sure!
Thanks!
1. Congrats on the Sweat Pink ambassadorship!
2. I read the Henrietta Lacks book for my book club – very interesting story
3. I’m on the “trying to like yoga” train as well. You can try yogadownload.com and yogaglo for cheaper-than-going-to-normal-class-and-you-don’t-have-to-leave-your-house yoga
1) Thanks lovely
2) It is interesting but I’ve been having trouble getting through it quickly. Some of it goes really fast and some just drags and drags.
3)I’ll try that. I-like-that-we-have-the-same-writing-style.
Yay! Welcome to the SPA community! We’re so excited to have you on the team.
I am morbidly fascinated by serial killers…but reading about them keeps me from sleeping at night. :/
Thanks! Me too, it always ends in sleepless nights…
