My 16th Weigh In

Sunday:

I was shocked and dismayed when I stepped on the scale Sunday morning, I was holding my breath to just break even with last week. So when I saw a huge loss I naturally didn’t believe it.

Every week I do a little dance with the scale. no matter what the number says. In fact, if it’s a good number the dance goes a little longer than it should. I strip down (because who honestly weighs themselves wearing anything at all?) get on the scale, and then get off and on again 3 or 4 times (depending on how great the number is) and then finally decide it’s not lying and write it down.

This week I danced around 143.4, that’s a 2.4 pound difference than the week before. Since every time I checked during the week (every day) I had gained weight, seeing such a big loss was pretty surprising. But it was good! I thought for sure my chocolate affair from earlier in the week was going to come back and bite me in the butt. But my attempts to make up for the bad judgement definitely paid off. So, what did I do?

1) I drank a lot of water. This sounds so easy to do, but it took a lot of training to remind myself to drink glass after glass. Normally I drink two glass in the morning, fill up my water bottle 3 times and then another glass before bed. Last week I made sure to add about 2 more glasses per day.

2) Armed myself with vegetables. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure been forced to be seen in public with me knows that in my purse there is always a bag of baby carrots a plastic baggie of pretzels and a cheese stick. Last week I cut out the pretzels and cheese and added tomatoes. Warning: cleaning squished tomatoes out of a purse isn’t fun.

3) I made my goal of doing planks and sit up every day. When I know my week is going well this is hard to do- they are easy to brush to the side. When I know that I ate 17lbs of chocolate it’s a little easier.

143.4 means I am very close to my mini goal of 139.9. I set mini goals because the final number is overwhelming to think about. The last time I was in the 30′s I was probably like, 5 years old, so this is a big step. Needless to say I’m ecstatic.

Note: Obviously, After recording my weight this week I immediately ate 3 cinnamon buns to celebrate. When will I learn?
